Everyday Golden Eyeshadow Tutorial - Sleek Storm/Original Palette

Recently I have been playing around with my Sleek Palettes and I created this Golden everyday makeup look. This look would be great for school and work. For this look I used two of my Sleek Palettes (The Original / Storm) which are very affordable. If you live in the US you can purchase these eyeshadow palettes from the Sleek website.

ame> If you do not own these two Sleek palettes feel free to use similar colors in your makeup collection. If you recreate this look please send a picture via Twitter/Instagram (which you can find below).

Palettes Used:

Step 1:
Apply a white base to your eyelid, this does not need to be blended into the crease. For this I used my NYC CityProof 24HR Waterproof Eyeshadow but if I'm completely honest I do not care for this that much I just want to use it up so it doesn't go to waste. I would instead recommend using Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil - Milk or Maybelline Colour Tattoo - Too Cool which are great white eyeshadow bases.

Apply white base to eyelid.
Step 2: Apply tape extending from your lower lash line pointing up towards the end of your eyebrow (see image below). This is used to give us a crisp edge and help with winged eyeliner later on. Then take a light matte brown color (#1 marked in palette) and blend this into the crease. To blend this just use windshield wiper motions over the top edge of the brown.

Add tape to eye and apply light matte brown to crease.
Step 3: Add a dark golden color in the center of your eyelid (#2 marked in palette).

Add dark golden shade in the center of your eyelid
Step 4: Add a lighter golden shade (than in Step 3) to the inner 1/3 of your eyelid (#3 marked in palette) . These two shades are very similar but it just gives a slight gradient over the eyelid. You could optionally skip this step and just use the same color as you did in Step 3.

Add slightly lighter gold to the inner eyelid.
Step 5: Add dark bronze shade into the outer portion of the eyelid (#4 marked in palette) . Make sure you blend this really good into the gold that is in the center of the eyelid. To do this just apply the bronze on the outer end, wipe off your brush, and go back over the harsh lines. If you still find that they are not blending easily grab the gold we used in Step 3 on your brush and use that to go over the harsh lines to blend.

Add dark bronze to the outer portion of the eyelid.

Step 6: Grab a fluffy blending brush and get a small amount of a dark matte brown on the brush (#5 marked in palette). Start at the edge of the tape and swoop the brush inwards following the crease. Try to only go about half way across the eye and stay away from the inner eye while doing this. This will just darken up the look slightly and make it a little more smokey.

Add dark matte brown into the outer portions of the crease
Step 7: To create a winged liner, first line your upper lash line as you normally would. I try to make the line thinner towards the inner portion of my eye and thicker towards the edge. Once you have done this you can take your brush and make a thin line following the tape as far as you'd like your wing to go. Finally you will put your brush at the end of the line you made and swing it in back towards the line you made above your lashes.

Create winged liner by lining your upper lash line and then using the tape as a guide for the wing

Step 8: Take off the tape. I added an inner corner highlight by adding Maybelline Color Tattoo in Too Cool. I applied this on my pinky finger and pressed this into the inner corner. To blend use a different finger than the one you applied the white with and keep patting. Curl your lashes and apply mascara and your finished!

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipsticks (Review + Swatches)

In my makeup collection the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine lipsticks are definitely my most reached for lip product. Not only do they have extremely luxurious packaging, but the formula is fantastic. These lipsticks feel very smooth and moisturizing on your lips, very similar to the feeling of a lip balm without the thickness that you tend to get from a normal lip balm.

(L-R) YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipsticks: #8, #13, #19

The lipsticks are slightly sheer compared to a normal lipstick but they do show up very well on the lips, even the more nude colors. As you can probably tell by the name these lipsticks leave a really pretty shine to your lips. I personally do not like wearing lip gloss so these provide me enough shine to skip the lip gloss entirely. I find that the darker colors do stain your lips with a color a few shades lighter than the actual lipstick, but unfortunately I find this does not happen with the two lighter colors that I have.

The lipsticks can be found in stores or online. If you live in the US you can find them in Sephora for $36.00. If you live in the UK you can find them in Debenhams and House of Fraser for £26.00 each. Even though these lipsticks are more expensive than a drugstore lipstick, I feel that these are completely worth the money. I have never felt another lipstick similar to these. I own a few Revlon Lip Butters and although they are also moisturizing on the lips they do not feel as smooth or creamy as the YSL lipsticks and the Revlon Lip Butters feel much more thick on the lips.
