Products I've Hit Pan On! (Face) - Mini Reviews + Would I Repurchase?

When browsing through my makeup collection this past weekend, I noticed that I have hit pan on a lot of my Face products. Hitting pan is one of those golden moments for beauty lovers as this means you have truly used up most of the product and have a thorough idea of how the product works. This also means you need to start thinking about whether or not the product is worth repurchasing or trying out something new. When it comes to makeup at least for me, repurchasing an item is a huge deal and really shows how loyal and dedicated you are to the particular product. I love switching out my makeup and trying out new products that brands are releasing so repurchasing a product is a huge deal! For the purpose of this blog post I will be showing you swatches of the product along with a mini review on each product, finally I will tell you whether or not I will repurchase the product and why.

Top L-R (Elf Candid Coral, Stay Matte Powder, MUA Powder, ELF Highlighter (Luminance), Covergirl Party Peach, Rimmel Pink Rose)
Middle going Top to Bottom (Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Spot Wand, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, 2True Clear Mascara)
The first product that I am beyond loyal to is my L’Oreal True Match Foundation in N1 Ivory. This is my ‘holy grail’ be all end all foundations that I could just not live without. This foundation has light to medium coverage but is very buildable. It is very lightweight on the skin and you honestly cannot feel it once it has been set into the skin. I have acne prone skin that is very fare and finding a foundation that A. Matches my skin perfectly and B. Doesn't break me out is quite the task. This foundation has never once broken me out and it matches me perfectly. The shade range is also fantastic as it offers over 20 different shade selections! Now I could go on about this foundation for days and days but you can see by the picture below that I am beyond sold and would highly recommend this foundation!

(There was an insane deal on the foundation so I bought them in bulk which is why I have so many!)

The first powder I ever used to set my makeup was the MUA Pressed Powder in Shade 1 which is the lightest shade MUA has to offer. If you have very pale skin I would highly suggest testing this colour in store before you purchase as this is definitely too dark for my skin tone. It does set your makeup but I do find it can look cakey throughout the day. For £1 it would do the job but I do not think it is the ‘best’ drugstore product to set your foundation. I have since then switched to my Rimmel Stay Matte powder which I absolutely love and will be reviewing as well!

My Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Transparent is one of my top face powders I have ever tried. It doesn’t give you that powder finish on your face and I find that I can use this all over my face without it looking cakey throughout the day. It feels very light on the skin and I think it works great with the L’Oreal True Match foundation! I own the transparent version which is ‘clear’ with no added colour but they do offer coloured powders as well. I will definitely be repurchasing this product.
(L-R) ELF Candid Coral, Stay Matte Powder, MUA Powder, Boots Spot Wand, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
The product I have hit the biggest pan on is my ELF Candid Coral blush which costed only £3! I loved this blush so much but I do find it is very sheer so you do really need to pack the colour on to get any sort of colour pay off. I also have extremely pale skin and normally blushes show up very easily so for this one not to show up is quite upsetting. It has a beautiful sheen to it and almost acts like a blush and highlighter all in one. If you do not mind using extra product to build up the colour then this blush is great! I will probably not be repurchasing just because I have many other blushes in my collection to use up first.

Since I have moved to the UK I can no longer get my hands on Covergirl makeup. This blush is one of my absolute favourites for my skin tone and it is Party Peach. I wouldn't say that this is very ‘peachy’ but almost bright pink on my skin tone at least. It is almost the perfect pink to brighten up the face but not look too extreme or unnatural. I would not suggest using the brush that it comes with but I like to use my ELF Angled Brush to apply this blush. I would definitely repurchase this blush if I could get my hands on it!

(L-R) Elf Highlighter (Luminance), Covergirl Party Peach, Rimmel Pink Rose

The final blush I have hit pan on is my Rimmel Pink Rose blush which is again one of my favourites. It is the perfect rose colour which looks great in the autumn and winter months. I also feel that this blush goes with any eyeshadow look dramatic or not and just suits everything. Whenever I am not sure what blush to wear I will always reach for this blush. I will definitely be repurchasing this blush as it is one of my everyday go-to’s.

Highlighters are very special to me and one of my favourite parts of applying makeup. This ELF Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Luminance is one of my favourites for a natural glow. This is more warm toned and definitely not a champagne or pink highlight but more of a candlelight highlight. It looks very natural on the skin and does not look glittery. It is very easy to blend and again just goes with any type of makeup look you are doing. I personally don’t think I would repurchase this again though as I do like glittery shimmery highlights and I am in love with my MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter, but I do think this product is great.

One of my favourite product in my skincare routine is my Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Spot Wand by Boots. This wand comes with a day and night side but I personally only prefer the day side. It is clear so you can apply this before you apply the rest of your makeup and it will help to get rid of the redness and reduce the size of acne. I find that this product does work to help my acne. I will and have repurchased this item many times before!

Top (L-R) Stay Matte Powder, MUA Powder, ELF Highlighter (Luminance
Middle (Top-Bottom) Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Spot Wand, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, 2True Clear Mascara)
My Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer has been well loved recently and is almost to its end. This is probably the only concealer I enjoy using under the eyes, although I do not use it everyday. If my foundation covers up my under eye circles on its own then I will skip this step but for those days you don’t get much sleep this product is great. I do find it does crease after extreme wear (8+ hours) but it is nothing drastic. I do find this product is quite difficult to blend out on its own though so I like to use my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. I will be repurchasing this product as soon as it runs out!

The final product I have nearly ran out of is my 2True Clear Mascara. I use this mascara to set my eyebrows and when I first bought it I promise you it was clear! Because I use this product after I fill in my eyebrows with powder the brown powder from my eyebrows has collected inside the tube which has changed it brown. There is hardly any product left in the tube and whenever I use it I have to scrape all the sides to get the littlest amount of product. I will repurchase this product and I use it every single day. I hate when my eyebrows feel crunchy or thick like how wax feels on your eyebrows so this is great for taming the brows but being undetectable throughout the day!

Swatches
So those are my face products that I have hit pan on. Have you hit pan on any of your face product? How did they work for you, what did you think about them and would you repurchase them once they finish? I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave them in the comments below!

  1. I hit pan on face products so much, but never eyeshadows. I have one blush I've hit pan on that I now rarely use because I'm always saving what's left for a special occasion since it's my favorite (NARS Deep Throat). I have the bad habit of ordering a new one once I see the pan coming through and then I abandon the old one and use the new one, even though there's still some left, so there are way too many almost finished blushes and bronzers sitting around in my drawer.

    1. That's really funny, see I usually use up every single last bit of product because I hate spending my money ;D Even when there is obviously no product left I will still try to dig out whatever I can. It seems like I go through face powders and blushes the fastest. I don't have many eyeshadows that have hit pan either. I have a few from my Coastal Scents palettes but 2-3 eyeshadows out of 88 doesn't seem that much to me. My Sleek Storm palette is also running low on the matte browns but again its not that much to include in this thread which is why I narrowed it down to face products!

    1. It does go with absolutely everything as well. It looks great on the skin and does not seem to clash with any eye-shadow or lipstick shade! It is one of my all time favourite blushes that I reach for constantly.
